AboutJoinDiscussionMembersLocal

Our online help covers the IxDA Discussion and IxDA Announcement mailing lists and website. If you still have questions, contact the discussion list administrator at list at ixda.org
Subscribing to the Discussion List
To subscribe to the IxDA Discussion List, enter your name and e-mail address on the Join IxDA page. You'll receive a confirmation e-mail the first time you sign in to the site with the subject IxDA Account Confirmation. Follow the link in your e-mail to activate your account.

New accounts are held for administrator approval. You'll be able to browse the list immediately, but your first few posts will be moderated.

Passwords for the Website
As of April 2007, you no longer need a password to sign into the IxDA website. If you joined prior to that date, you can discard your old password. The website uses a different system to protect your account.

To sign in, enter your name and the e-mail address you used to register. The website will verify your identity by sending a one-time confirmation e-mail message to your inbox and placing a cookie on your web browser. Once you've confirmed your identity you'll be able to sign in and post to the list or edit your subscription settings.

Posting to the Discussion List
Send messages to the IxDA Discussion List by using the comment form at the bottom of every thread. Browse discussion threads and be sure to first check the list guidelines before posting to the list.

If you choose to participate via e-mail with your subscription, then you can start new threads directly from your e-mail client by sending an e-mail message to discuss at ixda.org. Any messages sent to this address will be distributed to the entire membership (roughly 4,500 people).

Managing Your Account
Edit your e-mail settings and make changes by viewing the subscription section of your member profile. Select "Edit Profile," and then choose "Subscription." For example, if you're going on vacation and want to stop receiving e-mail from the Discussion List temporarily you can place your e-mail on hold rather than unsubscribing from the list.
Unsubscribing from the List
To unsubscribe from the discussion list, visit the subscription section of your member profile or use the form on the general unsubscribe page.

If you use the general unsubscription option, you'll receive a confirmation e-mail to unsubscribe. Follow the link in the e-mail to stop receiving messages.

IxDA Announcements
If you prefer not to subscribe to the discussion list, but still want to follow developments in the Interaction Design Association, subscribe to the announcement-only mailing list. Members of this list receive IxDA monthly newsletters and important announcements about events and surveys.

Unsubscribe from the announcment list.
